Sir,
I all along thought that Mana Badi is a small affair, catering only to the requirements of a small group of children who are forced by their parents to attend Mana Badi and acquire a smattering of Telugu words .
From the writeup above I realise how wrong I was, and how big the network of Mana Badi is in several States of the US, manned by dedicated teams in all those places.
n fact the efforts of the painstaking teachers who are inculcating in the children a love for, and a knowledge of the Telugu language , is indeed mind boggling.
We see how Telugu children in other States of our country are a pathetic sight - not knowing how to read and write Telugu, and how quickly they forget even to speak Telugu properly.
Our cinemas make a caricature of the Telugus in foreign countries, making them as ignoramuses about their mother tongue.
You are all doing a wonderful job in making the younger generation solidify their links with their mother tongue.
