The President’s Volunteer Service Award
Silicon Andhra (Certifying Organization) Guidelines

What is the President’s Volunteer Service Award?
The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes United States citizens and lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States that have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12-month time period.
Silicon Andhra is proud to announce that we are an official certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award.
Eligibility and Criteria
• Recipient(s) must be a United States citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident of the United States
• To be certified by Silicon Andhra you must be a registered member of Silicon Andhra for the 12-month time period that is requested
• The President’s Volunteer Service Award must be issued by a Certifying Organization
• Awards are issued for service hours served within a 12-month time period (set by the Certifying Organization). Silicon Andhra’s calendar is from July 1st to June 30th each year.
• Awards are issued for volunteer service only; monetary or other in-kind contributions are not grounds for recognizing an individual with a President’s Volunteer Service Award.
• All service hours must be verified by a Certifying Organization
• Volunteer service hours must benefit the Certifying Organization
• Volunteers may not be paid for their service
• Volunteers must be passionate to contribute to the Silicon Andhra events.
• Adult Volunteers can volunteer for maximum 9 hours in a day and Youth can volunteer up-to 6 hours in a day.
Hours by Award
There are three levels based on the volunteer’s age and the number of hours earned during a one year period beginning July 1st – June 30th of the following year. Hours are measured over a 12-month period and awards are based on cumulative hours. The awards are offered in multiple levels and designed to recognize each milestone of your service achievement. Levels include bronze, silver, gold and the highest honor, the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for those who contribute more than 4000 hours of service in their lifetime.

Areas of Volunteering

• Teachers – 4 hours per week
• Regional Coordinators, Core-Team Members, Strategic Team Members – 5 hours per week
• Coordinators – 4-5 hours per week
o Location with < 100 students 4 hours o Location with > 100 students 5 hours
Volunteers in special events and other areas will be clocked based on the actual hours volunteered.

Areas of Volunteering:

• Distribute flyers in local shops, libraries, temples.
• Help with circulating e- flyers (Young Adults and Adults)
• Help with administrative tasks in Admissions office (Young Adults and Adults)
• Help with Student Services office (Adults)

3 SAMPADA (Contact: DeenaBabu 408-205-5527 deenababu@siliconandhra.org)

Areas of Volunteering:

• Help to prepare the database of Music and Dance Teachers by each City throughout the year.
• Help calling non-affiliated teachers and make them aware of SAMPADA.
• Help to proctor exam rooms over the zoom.
• Help with scheduling competitions between March and June
• Help to promote online events organized by SAMPADA.

4 ROTARY CLUB OF SILICONANDHRA (Contact: Priya Tanugula 949-572-9320 priya.tanugula@siliconandhrarotary.org)

Areas of Volunteering

• Rotary Leadership and members are required to attend weekly meetings, any planning and brainstorming meetings.
• Rotary Leadership training sessions conducted by the District.
• Hours spent in Planning for any service projects.
• Hours spent in executing the projects.
• Attendance in any Special events conducted by the club, other clubs and the District.

5 GLOBAL CULTURAL (Contact: Priya Tanugula 949-572-9320 priya.tanugula@siliconandhra.org)
Areas of Volunteering:

• Planning Team: Planning for cultural events – event coordinators; Segment leads.
• Publicity team- Promoting events on social media and marketing in person to locations the cultural events are conducted.
• Logistics Team: Procurement of props; and all things associated with logistics of the event – Virtual and Physical efforts
• Fundraising Team: Identify potential Donors for all the events; Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable;
• Outreach Team: Connect with all life time members and core Silicon Andhra family. Promote about all our events to new potential aspirants.
• Stage/ Event Management Team: pre-& post stage management for various segments during an event.
• Production Management team: Line up of the segments; Pre-and Post stage management for various segments during an event.
• Hospitality Team: For all the artists coming as Guest of honor or as Performing artist. Hosting them and taking care of their pick up and drop offs to locations during event rehearsals.
• India Artists Coordination Team: Coordinate with performing artists and work closely with the Cultural team and event coordinators.
• Audio Team: Take all the requirements, coordinate with performing artists and work closely with the Cultural team and event coordinators.
• Digital Team: Take all the requirements, coordinate with performing artists and work closely with the Cultural team and event coordinators.
• Event - Pre-& post setup arrangement, take all the requirements, coordinate with performing artists and work closely with the Cultural team and event coordinators.
• Clean Up team - Pre-& post events
• Front end: Participants: Can volunteer in dance; music; theatre; audio setup; choreography; direction.

6 YOUTH SERVICES

a) SILICON ANDHRA YOUTH(SAY) (Contact: Dilip Sangaraju 201-565-5909 dilip.sangaraju@siliconandhra.org)

Areas of Volunteering

Youth will be working with adults in the following areas and on some special projects.

• Planning Team: Planning for cultural events – event coordinators; Segment leads.

Areas of Volunteering

• The Young Leader is expected to create awareness about better healthcare in rural India
• The Young Leader should work closely with a FYLH Mentor (12hours min. in a year)
• The Young Leader is self-driven to reach out to potential donors
• The Young Leader should attend the National zoom meetings once a month and the Mentor meetings as scheduled. (12 hours in year)
• Young leader is expected to work in a focused and goal-oriented fashion.
• The Young Leader should use all promotional material provided online and offline
• Young leader is expected to participate actively in at least 2 fundraising drives per academic year. (50-100 hours)
• Young leaders are encouraged and guided to take part in at least one community service locally. (8-10hours)
• The Young Leader should take the help from parents, friends and relatives to propagate the mission of providing better healthcare in rural India.

• Balaguruvulu – Teacher assistants – Mostly the Prabhasam graduates – 3 hours per week

Areas of Volunteering

• Interact Leadership & members will be required to attend weekly planning and brainstorming meetings (40-45 hours)
• Interact Leadership & members are required to attend Special events planning and rotary main leadership seminars (10-15 hours)
• Interact Leadership & members are required to participate in at-least 4-5 projects in a calendar year (100-200 hours)
